Gela village – on 2 and 3 August they celebrate Saint Elija’s Day with a big “sabor”.Every village in Bulgaria has a “sabor”-it is a big event once in the year, when the local people invite musicians to celebrate with them. All their relatives and friends are visiting that day their village,having a nice meal,dancing and enjoying the music. For the last several years,first weekend of August Gela village is organizing the Gaida /bagpipe/ festival.Late it becomes very famous. We are going to visit Gela on 3 August, listening the winners from the festival and dancing with the local people and musicians.The”sabor” takes place near the village-in the forest, next to the chapel ”Saint Elija”.
Zlatograd town – this small town became very popular in the last several years with it’s Ethnographic Area Complex – www.eac-zlatograd.com We are accommodating there and visiting it’s art workshops.
Startsevo village – the population-3000 people.They have about 100 singers and dancers –adults and lots of kids.
Polkovnik Serafimovo village -it is a very beautiful village in the heart of the mountains.
Smilyan village - we are visiting a small family company for dairy products. We are having milk lunch there.This village is very popular also with it’s own kind of beans.
Devin town - famous place for mineral spring water and very good spa-center;
Debren, Ablanitsa and Koprivlen villages are part of Pirin folk area. All they have male and female singing groups,dancers and musicians.They are very happy to have a dinner with us and enjoy dancing together!
